The incident unfolded at about 1:45 p.m. Tuesday as a group of boys, all between 8 and 13 years old, were changing clothes in the bathroom near the beach area of Seward Park, said Jonah Spangenthal-Lee of the Seattle police.
A man approached the boys, made lewd comments to them, tried to take off one child's pants and touched another child, Spangenthal-Lee said.
The suspect was described as an Asian man in his late 40s, standing about 5-feet-11-inches, weighing about 200 pounds. He was wearing gray shorts and red sneakers.
The suspect then left the bathroom and climbed into a green Toyota Corolla with another Asian male, who appeared to be in his 90s, and drove away.
The victims immediately reported the man to lifeguards and adults in the park, who called police and provided officers with some very useful information about the suspect.
Following the incident, officers went to a home in South Seattle looking for the suspect, but learned he no longer lives at that address.
Detectives are now investigating the case.
