Pedestrian killed by Sounder train near Auburn

AUBURN, Wash. -- A person was struck and killed by a Sounder commuter train near Auburn Friday evening, suspending service in the area.

The incident happened just before 5 p.m. in the southbound tracks just north of Auburn, said Sound Transit spokesperson Kimberly Reason. No other details about the crash have been released.

Reason said all southline traffic was halted and buses are being deployed to the scene to transport unloaded passengers from that train. Other train passengers stuck at train stations also are being re-directed to Sound Transit buses.
