Pedestrian critically injured in Shoreline hit-and-run

SHORELINE, Wash. -- Police are on the hunt for two men in a white van believed to be responsible for a Tuesday night hit-and-run that sent one man to the hospital with critical injuries.

The victim was walking across Aurora Avenue North near North 145th Street at roughly 6:45 p.m. when he was hit by a white work van, according to the King County sheriff's office.

Witnesses told deputies the van, which was driven by a Hispanic man, pulled into a nearby Jiffy Lube parking lot after the crash, but drove away moments later before police arrived.

Police and emergency workers arrived moments later and transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center, where he is in "very critical condition," according to deputies.

Deputies are now looking for the driver and his passenger, who is also a Hispanic man. Witnesses say the van was a full sized Ford or Chevy with a work rack on top. The van also has a broken headlight.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call 911.
