Passenger critically injured in Everett hit-and-run crash

EVERETT, Wash. -- Police say a 34-year-old Everett man was speeding Thursday night when he crashed into several cars, critically injuring his passenger.

Several witnesses called 911 around 7:30 p.m. to say they had seen a black car barreling down Lowell-Larimer Road. The car hit several other vehicles before coming to a stop.

By the time police arrived on scene, the driver was gone. Witnesses told police say saw him leave the area on foot. His passenger, a 31-year-old Everett man, was seriously injured in the crash.

He was taken to Harborview for treatment.

Several witnesses saw the driver leaving the scene and called 911 to say which direction he was going. Using that information, police tracked down and arrested the man in the 6500 block of Lowelll-Larimer Road.

It's unclear if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
