Olympia Man Hopes to 'Grow' the Distance in Vegas

OLYMPIA, Wash. - It's always interesting to find out where a passion begins.

"When I was really young, I looked up to my dad," Burke Kenny tells KOMO.

And like many of his peers ...

"I started experimenting about age 16," he says.

Who knew the thing that would make this Olympia man a world champion was right under his nose.

Guys don't be jealous, Burke Kenny really could grow a full beard as a teenager in high school. Today, he sports a beard that measures over a foot, and a mustache that is about 20 inches long.

He'll be competing in this weekend's National Beard and Mustache Championships in Las Vegas. Find out more about Burke and the sport he takes very seriously by watching the video version of this story above.
