Nordstrom to sell jewelry collection from Kenyan women
SEATTLE -- Nordstrom announced plans to start selling an artisan jewelry collection produced by women in Kenya.
The Me To We Collection will feature earrings, rings, bracelets and necklaces hand-crafted by Maasai Mamas. Nordstrom will be the first U.S. retailer to sell the Kenyan jewelry.
The jewelry will be available in 10 Nordstrom stores, including the Downtown Seattle location, as well as online.
According to a statement from Nordstrom, sales of the items will help support Free the Children, the charity partner of We To Me, which works to educate and empower Kenyan youth to make a difference in their communities and abroad.
The women working with Me To We are part of an organization dedicated to creating sustainable, locally sourced items while earning a fair wage.
