N. Seattle man with stab wound says he was attacked by stranger

SEATTLE - A 41-year-old man found in his house with a stab wound to his chest told police he managed to walk home after he was attacked on the street by a stranger Friday morning in North Seattle.

Officers responded to the scene, in the 3000 block of NE 143rd Street, at about 11:15 a.m. after receiving a 911 call about a man with a stab wound outside the residence, according to a police report.

There was no one outside the home when police arrived, and no one answered the door, so officers forced the door open and found the victim inside the residence with a stab wound to his upper right chest. He was prone but conscious and alert.

He told police that he was stabbed several blocks away on Lake City Way NE by a stranger who was with three or four other people. He managed to make his way home and collapsed.

The victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center. His condition was not immediately available.
