MARYSVILLE, Wash. -- An Amber Alert has been issued for an autistic Marysville child who may be in danger.
Investigators say 6-year-old Venjamin Seth Wright is likely with his mother, Shannan Christine Guest, and her boyfriend, Gary Howard Cooper.
Wright is non-verbal and has the mental capacity of an 18-month old, according to Jeff Goldman with the Marysville Police Department.
They may be traveling in a white 2012 Ford Focus and could be headed toward the Los Angeles area.
Representatives from Child Protective Services checked in on Guest at her Marysville home Wednesday morning to talk about concerns they had with Wright, but Guest refused to let the workers in, according to Goldman.
The CPS workers told Guest they were leaving to get a court order to place Wright into state custody. Before they left, Guest told the officials she would take the child and leave the area if things didn't go her way, according to police.
When the CPS workers returned with the court order, Guest and Wright were gone, and police now believe they could be driving to California with Cooper.
In a January 2012 Facebook post, Guest said she had spent the past two years in a "battle with the state of Washington" for custody of Wright, who she said had been living in foster care.
"The home he is in now is the 7th home he has lived in over the last 2 years. Everything they have asked of me I have done. I go to every class, engage in every service they have told me I need to complete before they will allow Venjamin to come home," she wrote.
Wright was last seen wearing a yellow T-shirt, black pants and black shoes.
Guest is 37-years old, stands 5'4" feet tall and weighs roughly 140 pounds. She has brown hair and green eyes.
Cooper is 32-years old, stands 6'4" tall and weighs roughly 150 pounds. He also has brown hair and green eyes.
The Ford Focus is a rented car and police do not yet know its license plate number.
If you have any information about Wright is asked to contact the Marysville Police Department at (360) 363-8350.
