Concerts at Marymoor Park's 5000-capacity outdoor venue are a beloved King County tradition, bringing some of the biggest acts in music both past and present to the Northwest -- and this year is no exception. This morning, Marymoor and concert promoter AEG announced the first wave of acts, including names like the Lumineers and Willie Nelson.
Marymoor began teasing the announcement on Facebook in February, even announcing some of the acts (Pink Martini and Victoria Justice, who was later scratched from the lineup) early. But today's unveiling presents the concert calendar's most well-known names.
Acts include Daryl Hall and John Oates, Damian and Stephen Marley and Steely Dan and, says Marymoor, there are more dates to be added as the summer approaches.
"With this roster of talent, and still more to come, we're truly offering a Summer Concert Series that will engage and entertain people of all ages and interests," noted Alex Kochan, Vice President of AEG Live Pacific Northwest.
Today's announcement also included information about the park's new partnership with Seattle Event Solutions, a joint venture between area nightlife staples David Meinert (The 5 Point Cafe, Big Mario's Pizza, Capitol Hill Block Party) and Marcus Charles (Local 360, The Crocodile, Capitol Hill Block Party).
"We have listened to all the fans and we believe that SES will provide the most interesting and appetizing food and beverage selections," Kochan stated.
The first concert is slated for June 19. More information, including ticket sales, is available through the Marymoor Concerts website.
