Man wounded in N. Seattle drive-by shooting after altercation

SEATTLE - A man was shot and wounded early Monday in a drive-by shooting as he was walking with his brother along a North Seattle street, police said.

Seattle police spokeswoman Renee Witt said the two brothers, both in their 20s, were walking across Aurora Avenue North at North 80th Street about 2 a.m. as a vehicle with several occupants was driving by.

The vehicle stopped and its occupants got into a verbal altercation with the two brothers.

Police say the car continued on but then circled back and an occupant fired shots that hit one of the brothers in the torso. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.

Police say the other brother was unhurt but was so severely intoxicated he could not provide a description of the suspects.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
