Man shot in Woodland Park dies

SEATTLE -- A man who was shot three times Monday evening in Woodland Park has died.

The shooting happened at about 5:15 p.m. in the 6000 block of Aurora Ave. N., according to Kyle Moore of the Seattle Fire Department.

North Precinct officers responded to a call of shots fired and when they arrived at the park they found a man, believed to be in his 30s, with three gunshot wounds.

The man was unconscious and unresponsive but breathing. Crews performed CPR at the scene before taking him to Harborview Medical Center. Hospital officials confirm the man died Tuesday afternoon.

Homicide and CSI detectives collected evidence at the scene and a police dog was brought in to search for the shooter, but no arrests have been made.

It was not clear what prompted the shooting.
