Police were called to a McDonald's in the 10100 block of SE 256th Street just after 9:30 p.m. When they arrived, the officers found a man in his 20s in the parking lot with a gunshot wound to his face.
The semi-conscious victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center, but his condition is not known.
A witness in the area heard the shooting happen.
"I heard pop, pop, pop. Four shots, actually," the man said. "It was like I was in a war zone, let's put it that way. You're supposed to duck and run."
Kent police do not believe the shooting was random and have said the victim was specifically targeted.
Police detained several people at the scene for questioning. Some are cooperating with the investigation, but others who may know the shooter are not, according to Kent police.
Police say the shooter ran away and is still at large.
