Man injured in Central District shooting

SEATTLE -- For the second time this week, shots rang out in the Central District Thursday evening, and for the second time a man was hit.

Police say a man in his 30s was shot in the leg at about 5:15 p.m. near the corner of 26th Avenue and Spring Street.

The man was taken to Harborview Medical Center to be treated for his wounds.

Officers are searching for the gunman, and no arrests have been made.

On Tuesday evening, an armed and uniformed security guard shot and killed a man in a parking lot on the northeast corner of 23rd Avenue South and South Jackson Street.

Police say two men were arguing in the parking lot when a security guard walked over and asked them to leave. One of the men, thought to be in his 20s, pulled out a gun. The guard then pulled out his own gun and shot the man in the torso.

He died later that night.
