Man arrested for allegedly robbing woman at gunpoint

EDMONDS, Wash. -- An Edmonds Police Department detective was in the right place at the right time to apprehend a 23-year-old man suspected of robbing a woman at gunpoint last week.

According to police, the man robbed an Edmonds woman May 15 in the 7200 block of 213th Place Southwest, threatening to kill her if she looked at him during the ordeal.

The robber ran off before officers arrived, but a subsequent investigation gave detectives a suspect.

Around 5 p.m. May 22, a detective assigned to the case was driving near Highway 99 and 220th Street Southwest when he saw the suspect walking north along Highway 99.

Officers arrived and arrested the man, who was booked into jail for investigation of robbery. He is being held on $25,000 bail.
