Macklemore set to perform at the Grammy nominations party
Seattle rap star Macklemore has won plenty of awards, but a Grammy isn't one of them...yet. But he'll be joined by some other big names at the nominations unveiling special in December.
"Blurred Lines" singer Robin Thicke and Drake are also scheduled to perform at the event, called "The Grammy Nominations Concert Live!! Countdown to Music's Biggest Night.", while LL Cool J will host The special will last one hour and air on CBS starting at 7pm Pacific Time.
Macklemore and producer Ryan Lewis have experienced explosive popularity in the last year, as their breakthrough album, "The Heist," has been certified Platinum and has netted the pair multiple awards. The album or at least some of its huge singles, like "Thrift Shop" and "Same Love" are likely Grammy nominees.
The rapper tweeted the news just after 6am on Wednesday morning, right after the Recording Academy made their announcement, and thanked the Grammys for having him.
The nominations special is just four days before the duo take the stage at Key Arena for three consecutive hometown performances, all of which are completely sold out.
