Lynnwood fire deemed arson

LYNNWOOD, Wash. -- A fire that destroyed a house in the Alderwood Manor area of south Snohomish County last week is being investigated as arson, investigators with the Snohomish County Fire District No. 1 said.

About half a dozen people were able to safely escaped as flames engulfed the two-story house in the 1800 block of 204th Pl. SW in an unincorporated area east of Lynnwood around 2:15 a.m. on Sept. 18. The fire caused more than $250,000 damage.

Investigators didn't give any details on how exactly the fire was set or what is leading their team to suspect arson, but say they believe it was an isolated incident.

Anyone with information is asked to call 1-800-55-ARSON and there is a reward of up to $10,000 from the Arson Alarm Foundation for information leading to the arrest and criminal conviction of arsonist.
