LeetUP: a pop culture carnival of nerdy awesomness kicks off tour in Seattle

Seattle is quickly gaining notoriety as a tech nerd paradise. Events like Emerald City Comicon and GeekGirlCon have solidified the Pacific Northwest as a venerable geek-friendly force. This month, the Emerald City can add another notch on its geek belt by hosting the leetUP Awesomesauce LIVE tour.

Beginning in September, the tour will make its way to 10 cities across the country. The tour kicks off in Seattle at the Moore Theatre on Sept 20.

Letup, hosted by Kevin Pereira, seeks to celebrate all things geek. There will be live podcasting and music, tech demos, cosplay, an old school videogame arcade, and giveaways. Each leetUP is unique to each city, so quests will get a completely different experience every time.
Guest lineups will vary, but a few regular fixtures to the event include Kevin Smith, Chris Hardwick, Doug Benson and Greg Fitzsimmons.

"We wanted to celebrate all that is nerd a profound love for the internet, podcasting, tech, music, videogames and remix them in a way that makes us social again," Pereira said on the event's website. "We've basically designed an elite playground for the discerning nerd that will constantly evolve."
