Seattle reLeaf's 2012 "Trees for Neighborhoods" program has been extended through Oct. 21. The program still has several varieties available for free to Seattle residents including western red cedar and fernleaf beech.
Trees for Neighborhoods provides up to four trees per household to plant in residential yards. In addition to free trees, participants in the program receive free watering bags, training on proper planting and care of trees, and ongoing tree care support.
Street tree applications will be due Oct. 21.
