Kidnapper to victim: 'Do you want to live or do you want to die?'

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. -- Federal Way police are still looking for a pair of gunmen who they say kidnapped and robbed a woman last month.

Investigators say a stranger approached the victim outside The Commons shopping mall on October 4 and said, "You want to live?"

The woman, who does not want to be identified, asked the man what he said.

"Do you want to live or do you want to die?" he told her.

She said he then forced her drive him to another location, where another man got in the car.

"I want them to be out of my car. Now I have two crazy people inside my car," she said. "(He said) 'You better not make any mistakes, sister, because you know you will die all other people will die too.'"

The man made her drive to a bank and withdraw $1,000. The bizarre robbery continued when the man forced the victim to drive somewhere else, where one of the men took her wedding ring and then took off on foot.

Federal Way police are now warning people to be careful over the holiday shopping season.

"The only thing that you should be thinking about is your safety, getting in your vehicle and getting out of there. The phone should be put away, the purse should be secure and have a plan. Where am I going to put my packages? Where am I going to secure them quickly?" said Federal Way police spokeswoman Cathy Schrock.

One of the robbers is described as a black male who stands about six feet tall and weighs 200 pounds. He may have a Kenyan accent and has a large gap in his front teeth. The second robber is a shorter black male with a gold front tooth.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call Federal Way Police Department.
