Increased patrols around Olympia schools after abduction attempt
OLYMPIA, Wash. -- The Olympia Police Department is increasing patrols around Westside-area schools after a middle-school student was grabbed in a possible abduction attempt Tuesday evening.
According to police, the student was near Decatur and Garfield around 5:30 p.m. when a stranger grabbed his shoulder from behind and wouldn't let go.
The student struggled with the man, eventually hitting him and running home, according to police.
The man is described as white, 6 feet tall and thin with blond hair and possibly facial hair. According to police, he was wearing a white track suit and green baseball cap at the time of the attack.
