Don Rickles visits Snoqualmie Casino
Father of all that is insult-comedy, Don Rickles brought his standup routine to Snoqualmie Casino Sunday, April 28th.
KOMO NewsRadio's Art Sanders was one of those lucky audience members who got the chance to meet Rickles, and chat with him about his career.
The interview opened up with fantastic sarcasm:
Art: Hello is this Don?
Don: No, it's Sherlock Holmes!
Rickles went on to talk about his routine, saying "There's no formula. There's a beginning, a middle, and an end."
Everything in between changes depending the audience. Rickles compares himself to a fighter, having to feel out the crowd and keep on his toes while on stage.
Younger generations tend to recognize Rickles for his voice as the iconic Mr. Potato Head.
"Leave me alone! I don't do cartoons," said Rickles after he was approached for the role in Toy Story.
Seventeen years later people still equate him with the grouchy but loveable, character.
This isn't his first visit to Seattle. Rickles has been in Seattle before, mentioning "Seattle's alotta fun if the sun comes out."
Despite Sander's best efforts, Rickles wouldn't give up the goods. No free jokes from this stand up comic.
Rickles is continuing his act around the country, leaving audiences in stitches. Check to see if he's coming to a city near you, chances are he is, because really, no one is safe.
