Two officers on routine patrol were flagged down in the 1100 block of East Union Street just before 11 p.m. to deal with a man who was "acting crazy," according to police.
Before they even approached the man, the officers saw him confront two strangers and throw a punch at them. The officers stepped in to arrest the man, but instead of surrendering peacefully, police say he "took a fighting stance."
The two officers were eventually able to subdue and arrest the man, but not before he got in a few punches. All three men were taken to Harborview Medical Center to be treated for minor injuries.
One officer suffered a sore right knee and a cut on his right hand, while the other officer suffered a bruise on his right hand.
The "crazy acting" man turned out to have an escape warrant from the Department of Corrections. The 31-year-old was booked into King County Jail for investigation of assault.
