Construction mishap knocks out power to 7,000 in Queen Anne

SEATTLE -- About 7,000 Seattle City Light customers in Queen Anne were without power for about 45 minutes Wednesday afternoon after a construction mishap knocked out a transformer.

The accident happened in the 800 block of 1st Ave. N., Seattle City Light officials said. Businesses and traffic lights were dark until repairs were completed just before 3 p.m. City Light says the original outage boundaries were Barrett Street on the north, West Thomas on the south, 11th Avenue West on the west, and Second Avenue North on the east.

City Light didn't give anymore details about exactly what happened at the construction site.
