Community Transit bus slams into SUV in Lynnwood, injuring 2

LYNNWOOD, Wash. -- Two people were injured Tuesday afternoon when a Community Transit bus crashed into an SUV in Lynnwood.

Police say the crash happened just before 4:30 p.m. on Highway 99 at 202nd Street Southwest.

Community Transit officials say the bus was heading northbound when an SUV traveling in the opposite direction tried to make a left turn in front of the bus.

The SUV didn't make it all the way across the northbound lanes and was hit by the bus. The SUV flipped on impact, and the driver was taken to Harborview Medical Center with non life threatening injuries.

There were roughly 20 passengers on the bus, and one reported minor injuries. That person was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Traffic was blocked for roughly an hour as crews worked to clear the wreckage.
