Bicyclist killed in collision with semi truck

SEATTLE -- A man riding a bicycle in an industrial area south of downtown Seattle was fatally injured in a collision with a semi truck early Wednesday.

Seattle Fire Department spokesman Kyle Moore said bystanders had already started performing CPR before medics arrived at the scene near the intersection of Hanford Street and East Marginal Way.

Fire department medics took over CPR efforts, but they were not able to revive the man.

The area where the crash happened is along a popular commuter bike route, and many bicyclists stopped at the scene as police collected evidence.

It was not clear who was at fault in the collision, and the name of the man who was killed has not been released.
