Bellevue man arrested after breaking out windows of his home

BELLEVUE, Wash. - A standoff and SWAT team response in a Bellevue neighborhood kept nearby residents up most of the night, but it finally ended early Friday when a suspect was taken into custody.

The incident began with a domestic violence call at about 10:30 p.m. Thursday at 174th Place NE.

Police say a 56-year-old man became agitated while arguing with his wife and broke out all the windows in their home.

The wife and children fled the home as a SWAT team responded to the scene.

The man barricaded himself in the home for several hours and refused to leave.

Finally, just before 3 a.m., officers were able to take the man into custody without incident. No one was injured in the standoff.
