Apartment fire displaces 10 in Kent

KENT, Wash. - The Red Cross is helping 10 people find a place to stay after a fire torched an apartment complex Sunday.

Officials say the fire had been burning at the 9700 block of South 248th Street for some time when they got the call at 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning.

Firefighters located the flames between the walls and floor of two apartments. Four apartments were damaged with no injuries reported.

Fire investigators have determined that an electrical wiring short in between floor joists is what sparked the fire.
