Amazon to build another distribution center in Wisconsin

KENOSHA, Wis. (AP) - Amazon.com Inc. plans to develop a second distribution center in Kenosha.

The $62 million project would add around 575 full- and part-time jobs.

Zohrab Khaligian of Kenosha's Community Development Department said Tuesday a development firm hired by the Seattle-based online retailer has filed a proposal with city officials.

Khaligian tells the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel the 500,000-square-foot facility would be built in conjunction with a 1 million-square-foot distribution center approved in October by Kenosha's Common Council.

The first distribution and order fulfillment center has an estimated cost of more than $200 million. That center is expected to have around 1,100 jobs by 2015.
