Accused Tukwila kidnapper charged with attempted murder

TUKWILA, Wash. -- A man accused of kidnapping a Tukwila woman at knife point Monday morning has been charged with attempted murder, assault and felony harassment.

Tukwila police were called to the 4800 block South 145th Street at about 11 a.m. after getting reports of a possible abduction.

Investigators soon identified a suspect and broadcast a description of his car throughout the state, according to Tukwila police.

At 2 p.m., a King County sheriff's deputy saw the suspect driving westbound on I-90 near Snoqualmie Pass. With help from a Washington State Patrol trooper, the deputy pulled over the car and found the victim and the suspect inside.

The man, who has not been identified, was arrested and later charged with second degree attempted murder, second degree assault and felony harassment, all domestic violence related, according to police.

The woman was not injured.
