2 injured as SUV flips onto its side in downtown Seattle

SEATTLE - A man and woman were injured Sunday when their SUV flipped over onto its side as they were heading along Fourth Avenue near Virginia Street in downtown Seattle, fire officials said.

Firefighters and medics responded to the scene at about 2:30 p.m. Sunday after receiving numerous calls about the accident.

Kyle Moore of the Seattle Fire Department said the woman had to be extricated from the vehicle. She sustained a head injury.

The man managed to climb out on his own.

Both victims, believed to be in their 30s, were taken to Harborview Medical Center.

They were unconfirmed reports from witnesses that the SUV flipped over onto its side after striking a parked car.
